Packing Needs: Outdoor waterproof snow gear, warm & extra dry layers, snow boots
Course Needs: Snowshoes - coordinate a loaner pair with the Snow Lab or plan for an in town rental

At a Glance

Day 1

Learn the principles of snow hydrology and tour the CSSL Sky-to-Steam measurement network.

Day 2

Gain experience and training on a variety of snow sampling techniques using manual methods and specialized instrumentation.

Day 3

Get introduced and explore hands-on application to snow modeling and machine learning. Stay the afternoon for an optional ski outing.

Course Conduct

The CSSL Snow Science School is adopting the University of California - Natural Reserve System's code of conduct for our 3-day course along with an anonymous reporting form to handle any issues of misconduct during the event.
